Courtyard home

As part of the renovations, the run-down bungalow was redesigned and transformed into a spacious home for a family of five. The rooms are arranged around an atrium on a square shaped floor layout. The highly minimised dimensions of the building are embedded in a stock of mature trees on a vast expanse of land. The home is consciously designed to be sealed off from the street at the front, and at the rear, where privacy is offered to occupants, it opens up to the natural surroundings with large window facades.
